The Cuisine Each client group is asked to return a client preference sheet listing their various food and beverage preferences as well as any dietary restrictions a group member may have. Grand Ciel Lodge offers some of the finest dining available anywhere in South Dakota. Meals are carefully planned and prepared, and served in a warm home style manner. Each day begins with a hearty breakfast that always carries you through the morning hunt. The mid-day meal is served in the lodge and is typically a lighter meal so as not to weigh you down during the afternoon hunt. Evening meals are generous and served with the appropriate selection of wines that perfectly compliment the meal selections. Renowned author, Chad Mason, writing in his monthly Gun Dog column, A Bird Hunter's Diary, in the 2004 June/July isssue, penned, "Grand Ciel Lodge is an undiscovered gem-beautiful, intimate, a welcome respite after a long day in the prairie wind.
